Fun fact: Tyrone turquoise comes from one of the largest open-pit copper mines in the world — the Tyrone Mine in Grant County, New Mexico! This area has been mined since prehistoric times, when Native American peoples were collecting turquoise there long before Spanish explorers arrived. The turquoise is a byproduct of copper mining, meaning these beautiful gems are essentially a bonus treasure unearthed during the process. Each stone features a totally unique blue-green color with a dark brown or black matrix — truly one of a kind.
